The Pre-Primary Section of Don Bosco High School & Jr. College, Oros, celebrated Orange Colour Day on 31st August 2026 with great enthusiasm and excitement. The celebration was planned to help children recognise the colour orange and understand it’s importance through enjoyable and meaningful activities.
The programme began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the colour orange. The children were encouraged to identify orange-coloured objects around them. They learnt that orange is a bright and warm colour formed by mixing red and yellow. They identified various orange objects such as oranges, carrots, pumpkins, marigold flowers and other familiar things.
A special Orange Fruit Talk was conducted using a real orange. The children learnt about the fruit, its juicy segments, orange juice and peel. They were also introduced to the health benefits of oranges, particularly that oranges are a good source of Vitamin C and contain water and fibre.
The children enthusiastically participated in an Orange Colour Song with actions, making the celebration lively and enjoyable.
The highlight of the celebration was the innovative activity “The Magic Orange Garden.” Each child decorated an orange paper circle and added it to a large classroom tree. The children also named different orange-coloured objects while participating in the activity. Together, they transformed the empty tree into a beautiful Magic Orange Garden.
The children then enjoyed a variety of fun-filled games. In the Orange Treasure Hunt, they searched for hidden orange objects. In Feed the Hungry Pumpkin, they identified orange balls and placed them into a cardboard pumpkin. The Orange or Not Orange? game helped strengthen their colour-recognition skills through quick and playful responses.
The celebration concluded with an Orange Parade, where the children proudly displayed their orange creations. The children enjoyed the entire programme with great excitement and participated actively throughout.
The Orange Colour Day celebration provided the children with an opportunity to learn through play, develop colour-recognition skills, express their creativity, improve coordination and enjoy healthy fruits. It was a joyful and memorable learning experience for all the children.
The bright orange decorations, creative activities, songs and games made the day colourful, educational and enjoyable.
