GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Don Bosco High School, Oros Is an English medium school run by the Salesians of Don Bosco.
  • The school is a permanently unaided private English medium school and does not receive any grant from the government.
  • This Institution is primarily for Catholics, established and administered by the Catholic Church but it is open to all irrespective of religion, caste or creed.
  • It caters primarily to the Catholic community and the preservation of the Catholic faith and religious practices. Keeping this in view classes in religion are conducted and it is obligatory for Catholic children to attend them. However, value education classes are conducted for all.
  • The school aims at providing an all-round education to its students by promoting various fields of interest such as games and sports, music and singing, elocution and dramatics, outing and excursion, social service, activity clubs, guidance and counselling facilities, and so on.
  • Parents are expected to co-operate fully in the task of education by seeing to the regular studies of the child and by encouraging him/her to participate inthe activities of the school. Attendance at school functions such as Annual Day, Sports Day and all other school functions are compulsory.
  • Great stress is laid on punctuality, regular attendance and discipline. Absencewithout prior permission on the first day of class after any vacation is considered a serious offence and will be liable to fine.
  • The school conducts certain drives for funds for charitable / educational causes during the year. Kindly note that no child or parents is ever compelled to donate towards these funds. Any
    contribution should be made out of sheer good will and bearing in mind the purpose of the collection which is always clearly announced before hand and duly carried out afterwards.
  • The school is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and as such is subject to the inspection of the Inspector of Schools and is under the control of the Education Department.
  • The school lays as much emphasis on character formation based on the loveof God and the service of man as modelled on the Person of Jesus Christ as an excellence in all school subjects.
